The Changing Seasons

Lucy & Alex Elbro speak for the first time. They discuss the changing seasons.

Adjustments to your wardrobe as the seasons change.

Lucy & Alex talk about how having an update and refresh in your wardrobe on a regular basis is good for your mental wellbeing.

As we enter Autumn and the weather cools it’s the perfect time for a review and to look ahead to what you might need in the next few months.

Also to look back over the past few months. What did you wear, what did you not wear? Are there things to let go of or are there things missing?

Throughout the year it’s a good idea to keep a running shopping list of items you need to buy. This makes shopping more focused and intentional.

It’s also a good idea to keep a list of items you don’t need to buy! When you are tempted to buy something you already have you can take that pause.

As the seasons change to cooler weather look at the following to make those adjustments more easily. Many of your clothes will take you through the whole year depending on how you mix them.

  • Layers. Working with layers allows you to adjust to differing temperatures easily. Layer different weights of fabrics and textures to have your clothes last through different seasons.
  • Footwear. As we go into cooler weather one thing that changes are our shoes as we introduce socks, shoes and boots.
  • Accessories. Thicker scarves, hats and gloves bring warmth as the weather cools.

Knowing what you like and what works for you makes the choices from what’s in the shops in any season easier and more intentional. You can keep up to date with new purchases or get creative with items you already have, maintaining your own sense of style while being conscious of your spending and impact on the environment.

I’m absolutely delighted with what we achieved. I feel very happy with what was culled for re-homing. Everything feels much more harmonious now and a sense of calm and order prevails.  I’ve taken away some very valuable tips from our sessions and been able to understand why I just didn’t get on with some items.
