The Phases of Style Coaching: The pieces you’re not keeping.

Alex & Lucy continue their conversation on evaluating your wardrobe. They talk about what to do with the pieces you’re letting go of.

The wardrobe evaluation is done; the inventory, the storage, the preparation, the clothes. Alex & Lucy talk about what to do with what you’re choosing to let go of.

There’s one part of the process we might not think about too much but it’s really important; what happens to the clothes we choose not to keep.

In this conversation we explore:

  • What you can learn from the pieces you’re letting go of.
  • Why being intentional about this stage makes a big difference to your personal style and how it evolves.
  • How it can affect your shopping and make it intentional and focused.
  • Practical ways to give the items a new home. From donating and swapping to repairing and repurposing.
  • How our choices here, and going forward, affect not just our wardrobes, but also the environment.

I hope you can take something from our conversation and it inspires you to look at your “letting go pile” with fresh eyes.

I met with Lucy for a colour consultation. It was really interesting thinking about the colours and type of prints which I typically choose and discovering how certain colours worked well with my own eye, hair and skin tones, and how to wear these. The session has been really helpful, and given me the confidence to review my wardrobe and identify clothes that don’t work so well for me, which I had actually not been wearing. I am also able to shop more efficiently now as I have a much clearer idea of what colours work best for me.
