The Phases of Style Coaching : Personal Style

Alex & Lucy talk about personal style and how it evolves over time.

Personal Style is you expressed on the outside. It’s you, the person, in your style.

Putting your style into your wardrobe really is an inside job.

And we change and evolve as we go through our life.  Alex shares how she recently found a photo of herself from her corporate days in the 1990s and how she looks and feels so different now.

But how do we find, articulate and express our personal style?

It takes time, work, and being consciously curious to figure it out.

Here’s how I would get started:

  • Start to get curious about what you like and go beyond clothes.
  • Look in your own wardrobe and see your clothes with fresh eyes.
  • Seek inspiration.
  • Identify your style in words that mean something to you.
  • Go shopping just to explore, not to buy.

I help you to put the effort in so that it all becomes effortless.

Going through my wardrobe with someone is a very personal experience.  Clothes can conjure up memories and emotions that Lucy handles not only professionally and patiently, but with understanding.  There is no pressure to get rid of an article of clothing, however, Lucy asks simple and insightful questions to help clarify what we have and why, as well as what is worn and what isn’t worn and why.  I eliminated clothes from my closet that were no longer of use to me, as well as learned how I could make some items wearable or more versatile.
