The Elements of a Successful Wardrobe
Leigh and Lucy talk about the elements of a successful wardrobe.
A successful, supportive, wardrobe is one that has everything you need in it. The clothes there give you confidence and self expression. And it saves you time, money and stress daily.
Many people report wearing about 20% of their clothes 80% of the time with many things hanging there for years not being worn and enjoyed. ‘I have lots of clothes but nothing to wear’ is a common expression.
So, what are the elements of a successful wardrobe?
- Colour. A magic ingredient in your clothing collection. Colour affects us – our mood, energy, confidence, body language. Knowing your most flattering and harmonious colours makes creating what you’re going to wear every day easier, more varied and more creative. You also shop with more focus and confidence.
- Style. Your body is your home for the whole of your life. Getting to know it, which clothes flatter it, what you feel comfortable and confident in is important.
- Lifestyle. Your clothes need to match and align with your life which evolves over time. You might have the most amazing clothes colour and style wise. But if they don’t give you want you need in your life they won’t be worn.
- Personality. What expresses you and your personality? You might know or you might not. Or you used to know and now you’re not so sure. Being consciously curious about your preferences helps to explore and discover this part of your dressing.
