Labels you might give your clothes
Sometimes it’s seemingly little things that can get in our way – like labels.
Leigh & Lucy talked about labels.
Not clothing brand labels……but the labels we give our clothes often without even being aware we are doing it. These can limit how we wear items or stop us wearing them at all.
If you have clothes that you really love but you’re not wearing them, it might be because you’ve given them some sort of label.
Here are some of the labels Lucy’s noticed:
- Shop labels. You may have items in your wardrobe still with the shop tags on.
- A purpose label. You may label your clothes based on one thing you wear them for. For example it’s a work top, going out top, holiday top, summer top, winter top. Maybe it’s just a top that can have many uses.
- A special occasion. You bought it to wear for a special occasion and now, in your mind, it can only be worn for that kind of occasion.
- It’s for summer/winter. Some things might only work in one season but many things can work all year round with a bit of imagination and layering.
- You’re saving it for best. You have really lovely things that are so you…but you don’t wear them often as you’re saving them for best.
Do any of these resonate with you?
Maybe you have different labels. Or maybe you’ve stopped doing this and now enjoy your lovely things on a daily basis.
