The Phases of Style Coaching : Your Wardrobe

Alex & Lucy continue their conversation about evaluating your wardrobe.

Alex & Lucy continue their conversation on evaluating, planning and building your wardrobe and the preparation steps.

We’re talking about storage.

We can have a tendency to jump straight in.

To start shopping.

Or, in a flurry of energy and determination, you set a day and get everything out of cupboards, drawers, shelves.  And then, seeing it all over your bed and bedroom, overwhelm can set in.

Or, just the thought of it all is too overwhelming and you don’t even start.

Preparation slows you down.

It creates easy, doable steps to follow. And to get you started.

One step for preparation is to look at your storage space.

There is no magic, perfect way and many of us share our homes and our storage space.

The fewer places you have to go, the easier it is to get dressed in the morning.

The more visible and accessible things are the more likely you are to wear them.

Look at how you store things at the moment.

Observe how that works for you…or not.

If it’s not working how would you like it to be?

Rearrange things to experiment – don’t worry whether you wear the items or not.  Moving things has you see them with fresh eyes.

Know who you are and how you like to use the space.

Make a plan – perhaps a simple drawing would help.

I was at a low ebb when Lucy helped me to find my style and regain my confidence. She was empathetic and professional, with a great instinct to knowing what would work.
